Preppers Class

Are you a Prepper?

Reading these words you may first think of a camouflage-wearing backwoods survivalist cleaning his gun by the campfire while waiting for the world to end. Preppers are not waiting for the world to end, but they do share one common belief. Preppers feel we are becoming less skilled to take care of ourselves, while becoming more dependent on centralized government services and highly complex technologies to do this for us. What once would have been a minor disruption in a less interconnected society, can now impact millions of people. Damage to the utility infrastructure from hurricanes, tornados, earthquakes, ice storms, floods, or forest fires can affect entire states and take weeks to repair while you sit in the dark.

Preppers do not expect emergency assistance from well-meaning but unresponsive government agencies, and know without making advance preparations they will be sleeping on the floor of a civic center along with everyone else. Preppers know this government cannot possibly take care of everyone after a major catastrophe strikes. While the politicians fought for weeks, New Orleans residents found this out the hard way after Hurricane Katrina in 2005, and there are hundreds of other examples. Being a prepper means you have made advance preparations to lessen the risk to your family when, not if, an emergency strikes. Most preppers have converted a closet or corner of their basement into a large food pantry, which they keep well stocked. They will also keep several gallons of bottled water on hand, and they not only own a flashlight and battery-powered AM radio, but unlike many households these actually work and include extra batteries!

It is our goal to help you achieve the next level of preparedness which involves finding ways to keep your critical electrical devices operating when the grid goes down. We stock a wide selection of battery-powered refrigerators, light fixtures, well pumps, chargers, and even waterless composting toilets. We also carry a full line of inverters and solar modules that will power your critical electrical loads and electronic devices indefinitely.

Want to live totally off-grid, power a remote cabin, or just want your home's lights and refrigerator to stay on during the next ice storm? DTI Solar offers one-day classes designed specifically to help preppers achieve this next level of emergency preparedness.

These classes are limited to the first 14 people to register. Classes start promptly at 10 AM, and end at 1 PM, with boxed lunch provided. The cost is $45 per couple which includes lunch and a $25 store credit that can be applied towards the purchase of anything in our store. We reserve the right to reschedule any class having fewer than 6 people to register. Visit our store full of hard-to-find prepper and off-grid solar products, and bring your like-minded friends.
